Joe Weiland Participates in Santa Barbara’s Friendship Paddle
This past weekend, our very own Joe Weiland had the honor of taking part in the Friendship Paddle — a Santa Barbara tradition since 2003, where community members gather on the water to support a local family facing an unimaginable challenge. This year, they paddled for Scott Miners and his family.
Scott has called Santa Barbara home for nearly thirty years, raising his family here with his wife Jenn and building a life around the ocean and community. Now facing Stage 4 cancer, Scott has never stopped giving back — volunteering, supporting fellow patients, and even paddling last year for another honoree while quietly facing his own diagnosis.
That's who Scott is. This year, our community had the chance to give back a fraction of what he's given so many others, and Joe was proud to be part of a paddle meant to surround the Miners family with that same love and support.
At Arlington Financial Advisors, we believe real community means showing up for each other, especially when it matters most. Thank you to everyone who organizes and continues this incredible tradition, and to the Miners family for reminding us all what it means to stay generous, connected, and present, even in the hardest moments.
💙 Sending love and strength to Scott, Jenn, Kira, and Caleb.
